the sleep event

Sleep06, Europe’s only dedicated hotel design exhibition, was the perfect setting to launch the Sleep-Pod, designed by FORM design architecture for Lorica St Patrick’s, a charity for the homeless.  The purpose of the stand was four-fold. The primary objective was to inspire the hospitality sector to fund the manufacture of one or a number of the Pods. It was also to explain clearly to visitors the concept behind the unique structure, to provide a photogenic environment for possible TV coverage as well as to sensitively raise the profile of the several companies involved.

The stand proved to be one of the busiest at the event. Sufficient donations were pledged to guarantee initial production for Lorica St Patrick’s and both BBC and independent TV filmed the Pod for their prime time news.
