One of the early entrants in the market where dental care meets retail was the whiter smile.  FORM design architecture was invited to design the first of the company’s clinics, located in the heart of the City of London, and thus establish a blueprint for further outlets in the future. Key to the successful scheme was an appreciation of the two separate domains: the street level reception/waiting area at the front of the building, which had to act as a shop window for the business while providing a welcoming, relaxing and professional environment for patients, and the private treatment rooms which needed to convey hi-tech clinical authority.

The project involved completely refitting the ground and first floors of an existing Georgian building.  Slate, glass, polished chrome and dark timbers, together with a cheerful colour palette, were variously used to convey the differing characteristics of the spaces within an overall envelope that was contemporary and re-assuring.
